Youth Ministry (6th-12th Grade)
Friday Nights at 8PM
CE Sanctuary • 3635 Lawton Street (Map)
Sunset Church Youth exists to make disciples of students by redeeming them through the power of the Gospel (Romans 1:16-17), maturing them through the church community (Ephesians 4:11-16), and sending them on mission to their schools and the nations (Matthew 28:18-20).
In addition, since the youth ministry is an extension of the larger local church, we aim to partner with parents in maturing their youth to be lifelong disciples of Jesus, demonstrated by a life of obedience and worship to Him. We believe our ministry environment is one where youth can come in and be themselves, find real friendships, and learn about Jesus.

Junior High (Rooted)
Rooted is our junior high ministry (6th-8th grade) that seeks to instruct the youth with foundational truths necessary to live a pleasing, faithful, and fruitful life to God. We aim for every student to receive grace-filled, gospel-centered, and bible-saturated discipleship so that their hearts and lives would be rooted in Christ (Colossians 2:6-7).
High School (Agape Koinonia)
Agape Koinonia is our high school ministry (9th-12th grade). The name comes from Greek words that essentially mean, “Love Fellowship.” Our hope for high schoolers is that they would grow collectively in their love for God and love for one another as disciples of Jesus Christ (John 13:35). If you have any questions regarding our high school ministry, please contact Pastor Gabriel.
About Youth Ministry
FRIDAY NIGHT YOUTH
Most Fridays, our Junior High and High School groups meet for a time of Bible teaching, singing, small groups, and fellowship. We meet in Sunset Church’s CE Building (3635 Lawton Street).
8:00 pm – Musical Worship
8:30 pm – Bible Teaching
9:00 pm – Small Groups*
10:00 pm – Free-Time/Pick up
*Small groups provide relational connections with youth peers and an adult to walk with them side by side through life’s challenges and doubts. It’s a place for youth to foster friendship, have accountability, and care for one another. If you are a visitor or new we will help you get placed in a small group.
SUNDAY MORNING YOUTH
We offer Sunday School classes on Sundays for jr. high and high school students. The goal of these classes is to provide youth with a thorough biblical worldview and foundational skills to develop their spiritual maturity as they journey toward adulthood. We have a group of adult church members who teach these classes and lead discussion groups. Participating in Sunday school and family worship service is highly encouraged. It provides youth with a comprehensive understanding of what it means to follow Jesus that Friday Youth participation alone cannot provide.
